Habits are a core part of your routine—and ByDesign makes it easy to build ones that stick. Whether you're building a solo streak or teaming up with friends, tracking habits has never felt this intuitive (or fun).

✨ 3 Ways to Add a Habit
You can create a habit in ByDesign in three ways:
1. From the Dashboard
Add the Habit Widget (if it’s not already there)
Click the ➕ button to create a new habit
This is the easiest way to get started and track habits day-to-day.
2. From the Calendar
Click anywhere on the calendar
In the creation modal, choose Habit from the top bar
Fill in the details just like you would for a task or event
3. From the Hub
Open the hub from the sidebar
Browse our pre-created habits
Add any habit you like with one click
This is perfect if you're not sure where to start.
🧩 Customizing Your Habit
When creating a habit, you can tailor every detail:
Name + Emoji: Give your habit an identity
Start & End Date: Choose when it begins, and optionally, when it ends
All-Day or Time-Specific:
All-day habits are tracked across the day
Time-specific habits appear at a fixed time in your calendar
Recurring Schedule:
Daily (e.g. every day or every weekday)
Weekly (pick custom days—Mon/Wed/Fri, or just Sundays)
Monthly (e.g. "every 2nd Monday" or "on the 15th")
Yearly (e.g. "Jan 1st" or "every anniversary date")
Reminders: Get notified when it’s time
External Calendar Sync: Push your habits to your Google Calendar if you want to see them elsewhere
🫶 Build Habits With Friends
You can share habits with your friends to track progress and keep each other accountable.
There are two ways to add someone to your habit:
Send them a link to your habit
If they’re already on ByDesign, connect with them and add them from the habit’s Edit modal
When a habit is shared:
Everyone sees their own checkboxes and progress
Everyone can rename the habit to fit their own routine
There's a friendly leaderboard (great for motivation!)
You can comment on the habit to cheer each other on, share tips, or remind someone (kindly 😉)
Whether it's a daily walk, no-sugar streak, or a journaling challenge—doing it together makes it way more fun.
📆 Drag & Drop to Reschedule
Habits are flexible. Even if you’ve set a specific time:
You can drag and drop them within your calendar
This won’t affect your recurring pattern—just that day’s time
Perfect for all-day habits you want to do at a different hour on a specific day
Start with one or two small habits to stay consistent
