Planning a goal with AI

Say what you want to achieve and ByDesign builds the plan. Tasks, habits, resources and a schedule that fits the time you actually have.

🎯 Creating a goal

Head to Goals and click New Goal.

You can type your goal in your own words, or pick one of the suggestions if you want somewhere to start.

Be as specific as you like. "Learn to code" works, but "I want to learn Python and build my own app, I've got about two hours a week" gives the AI a lot more to work with.

You can speak it too — hit the mic and just say it out loud.

📋 A few quick questions

Before it builds anything, ByDesign asks you a handful of questions specific to your goal.

A fitness goal might ask about your current activity level and whether you have any injuries. A learning goal might ask about your experience and how much time you can give it each week.

They're mostly tap-to-answer, so it takes under a minute. These answers are what make the difference between a generic plan and one that actually fits your life.

✨ What you get

ByDesign builds the full plan:

Milestones — a few meaningful checkpoints across the timeline, so you always know if you're on track

Tasks — specific, actionable steps with realistic time estimates. Not "research Python" but "watch the first three CS50P lessons and take notes on variables"

Resources — real courses, videos and articles attached to the tasks that need them, so you're never hunting for where to start

A schedule — everything placed into your calendar around your existing commitments, work hours and calendar blocks

✏️ Making it yours

Nothing is locked. You can edit any task, change a date, remove things you don't need, or add your own.

If the whole plan feels off, ask the assistant to rethink it. "Make this more realistic" or "I've only got one hour a week, adjust it" and it'll rebuild around that.

📅 On your calendar

Goal tasks appear in your calendar in the goal's colour, so you can see at a glance how much of your week is going toward what you care about.

Open any task and the attached resources are right there. No hunting through browser tabs.

💳 What it costs

Planning a goal uses 45 credits. It's the most expensive thing the AI does, because it's doing the most — breaking down the goal, finding real resources, and scheduling everything around your life.

You'll see the cost before you hit generate.
