Talking to your assistant

The assistant lives inside ByDesign and knows your actual schedule, goals and habits. You can type to it or talk to it. This guide covers what to say and what it can do for you.

💬 Opening the assistant

Click the Assistant button to open the chat panel, or hit Voice to talk instead.

When it opens you'll get a few suggested things you might want to do right now. Tap one or just start typing.

🗣 What to say

There's no syntax. Talk to it like you'd talk to someone who knows your calendar.

Moving things around

  • "This week is chaos, what can wait?"

  • "Move my afternoon to tomorrow"

  • "Clear Friday"

  • "Push everything non urgent to next week"

Finding time

  • "Find me three hours for deep work this week"

  • "When am I free on Thursday?"

  • "I need to prep for a presentation Monday, block time for it"

  • "Find time to work out today"

Understanding your week

  • "What's on my plate today?"

  • "What's my most important task this week?"

  • "Am I overloaded?"

  • "What have I been avoiding?"

Working with goals

  • "How's my reading goal going?"

  • "Show me everything under my fitness goal"

  • "I haven't touched my side project in two weeks, help"

Navigating

  • "Show me next month"

  • "Just show my work tasks"

  • “Show me the next 10 days”

  • “Show me my remaining weekends“

  • "Take me to this week"

🎤 Using voice

Hit the Voice button and start talking. You'll see the transcript appear as you speak.

If you turn on Hands free voice in your AI Profile, ByDesign listens for a wake word so you can skip tapping the mic entirely.

✅ Before it changes anything

When the assistant is about to make a real change, it shows you a preview first. You'll see exactly what's moving, what's being added, and what it's leaving alone.

Recurring items and events from your connected calendars are protected by default. If something can't be moved, the assistant tells you why and offers an alternative.

Nothing gets deleted without asking you.

💡 Getting better results

Give it context. "Find time to run" works. "Find time to run, I'd rather do mornings" works better.

Say what matters. If something is non-negotiable this week, tell it. It'll plan around that instead of treating everything equally.

It remembers the conversation. You can follow up without repeating yourself. "Actually make that Thursday instead" works fine.
